Rep. Joaquin Castro’s (D-20) “potential run for senator was the topic of the first question asked at the rally with an overflow crowd of about 100 Saturday” during his visit to El Paso, TX.

“We need a senator that works for Texas. Ted Cruz works for Ted Cruz,” Castro said, adding that he will announce his decision at the end of April.

“It’s not about me or about any one of us but about the direction of this state and the direction of this country,” Castro said.

Rep. Beto O’Rourke (D-16) is also contemplating a Cruz challenge. (El Paso Times)
