State Sen. Andy San­born (R) met with the Na­tion­al Re­pub­lic­an Con­gres­sion­al Com­mit­tee on a trip to Wash­ing­ton, D.C. last week to dis­cuss chal­len­ging Rep. Car­ol Shea-Port­er (D), ac­cord­ing to GOP sources in Wash­ing­ton. He was “ was ac­com­pan­ied by vet­er­an Gran­ite State Re­pub­lic­an strategist Eth­an Zor­fas, a former chief of staff and a top polit­ic­al ad­viser to” former Rep. Frank Guinta (R).

San­born could be a for­mid­able op­pon­ent. He “is one of the top con­ser­vat­ive voices in the State House. He’s chair­man of the Sen­ate Ways and Means Com­mit­tee and an in­flu­en­tial mem­ber of the im­port­ant Elec­tion Law and In­tern­al Af­fairs Com­mit­tee.” (NH1)
