State Treasurer Walker Stapleton (R) will headline a rally promoting congressional term limits on Thursday, “fueling speculation that Stapleton is poised to enter the 2018 Colorado governor’s race.”

“[T]he issue helps cast Stapleton as an anti-establishment candidate despite his ties to the Bush family. He supported” former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush (R) “in the GOP primary before voting for [President] Trump.”

“[T]he rally is the latest in a series of moves designed to improve Stapleton’s stock. A dark money organization spent $675,000 on television and radio advertisements in the 2016 election that featured Stapleton voicing opposition to Amendment 69, the failed ColoradoCare effort to create a universal healthcare system.” (Denver Post)
