Businessman “Alligator Ron” Bergeron (R) says “he is … ‘reasonably seriously’ … running for governor in 2018.” He “expects to make a decision within four months or so. Asked if he would be capable of spending as much money as” Gov. Rick Scott (R) “did in 2010 — about $75 million — Bergeron said, ‘I could,’ but has made no decision.”

Bergeron: “I’ve had an awful lot of people approach me. … I think I have to first of all look at my family and how it would effect my family and make the decision after that.” (Tampa Bay Times)
