Former Rep. Tom Perriello (D) “raised more than $1.1 million in the month since he entered the race, his campaign announced Monday. … Perriello campaign officials declined to detail the sources of contributions, beyond saying they include 2,500 online donations. Virginia does not cap campaign giving.”

Lt. Gov. Ralph Northam (D) “reported raising $2.7 million last year, and had about $2.5 million available in campaign accounts heading into 2017. His spokesman David Turner says he raised an additional $340,000 from 7,000 donors in the first week of January, before the state legislative session began, suspending his ability to accept contributions. He can resume fundraising after the session ends on Feb. 26.”

“The state requires candidates for governor to file their first campaign finance reports on April 17.” (Washington Post)
