Rauner Has “Serious Concerns” About Immigration Ban

The governor didn’t come down for or against Trump’s order.

“Amid cri­ti­cism that he was si­lent while chaos erup­ted at area air­ports over the week­end, Gov. Bruce Rau­ner (R) said on Sunday that ‘ser­i­ous con­cerns’ ex­ist over Pres­id­ent Don­ald Trump’s ban on travel from sev­en Muslim-ma­jor­ity coun­tries, say­ing those con­cerns should be ad­dressed in court.

“Rau­ner also said he op­posed any ban that tar­geted a spe­cif­ic re­li­gion, but the care­fully worded state­ment fell short of a full em­brace or full re­buke of Trump’s policy.” (Politico)
