Ralph Northam (D) and former RNC Chair Ed Gillespie (R) remain largely unknown in a new poll from Roanoke College (Jan. 15-20; 606 residents; 4%). “Northam has a favorable rating of 8 percent with 5 percent unfavorable. … Gillespie … fares similarly with 14 percent favorable, 10 percent unfavorable.”
In the Democratic primary, Northam and former Rep. Tom Perriello (D) are tied at 12% apiece.
In the Republican primary, Gillespie with 24% bests state Sen. Frank Wagner (R) (8%), Prince William County Board of Supervisors Chairman Corey Stewart (R) (4%), and distillery owner Denver Riggleman (R) (1%).
