Former Provid­ence May­or An­gel Taver­as (D) ruled out a second bid against Gov. Gina Rai­mondo (D).

Taver­as, who ran in 2014: “I am not open to run­ning for gov­ernor again in 2018.”

Re­pub­lic­ans who have ex­pressed in­terest in chal­len­ging Rai­mondo in­clude: busi­ness­man Gio­vanni Fe­roce (R), former state Su­preme Court Justice Robert Flanders (R), state Rep.
