One secretary of State choice for President-elect Trump could “ultimately breeze through the Senate: Sen. Bob Corker (R), whose fans include not just fellow Republicans, but Democrats who’d happily vote to confirm him.”

“I don’t like to predict what happens in the Senate, but I would tell you: He would be very well-received by the Senate,” said Sen. Ben Cardin (D-MD). “I believe he’s been an outstanding chairman.”

Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) said, “I think he would be a great pick.”

Corker “has earned a reputation on Capitol Hill as a no-nonsense legislator who often finds himself in the middle of major deals.” (Politico)
