Fighting for Ohio Fund PAC, which supports Sen. Rob Portman (R), launched a new TV ad comparing former Gov. Ted Strickland (D) to a used car. The ad is being rotated into an existing $1.4 million statewide broadcast and cable buy starting today, Wednesday, August 17.

A narrator says “Strickland’s odometer is over 350,000… that’s how many jobs Ohio lost on his watch, and there was almost nothing left in the tank,” referring to the state’s drained “rainy day” fund. The ad concludes that Strickland is a “clunker” for Ohio. (release)

DEBATE NIGHT. Portman and Strickland’s campaign announced in a joint press release that they have agreed to three debates, in Youngstown, Cleveland and Columbus on October 14, 17, and 20, respectively. (release)
