House Ethics Committee Announces Mullin Investigation

House Eth­ics Com­mit­tee lead­ers said Thursday they are look­ing in­to a mat­ter in­volving fresh­man Rep. Mark­wayne Mul­lin. The of­fice of the Ok­lahoma Re­pub­lic­an said he is co­oper­at­ing with the in­vest­ig­a­tion and be­lieves he is in com­pli­ance with all eth­ics rules.

Neither Mul­lin’s of­fice nor the in­de­pend­ent Of­fice of Con­gres­sion­al Eth­ics would provide any fur­ther de­tails on the mat­ter, which was an­nounced by Eth­ics Com­mit­tee Chair­man Mike Con­away and rank­ing Demo­crat Linda Sanc­hez. A spokes­wo­man for Mul­lin, 36, said that “there would be no fur­ther com­ment at this time” from him. The com­mit­tee said it will an­nounce its next course of ac­tion on or be­fore March 24.
