Former President George W. Bush made a pitch for his brother former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush (R) in a joint TV interview, saying: “I’m not an expert in a lot of things, but I’m pretty knowledgeable about what it takes to be president, since I were one. And he’s got what it takes.” (Fox News)

The former president also sent a new fundraising email on Jeb’s behalf while contrasting him with his GOP rivals. “Strength is not empty rhetoric. It is not bluster. It is not theatrics.” Bush wrote in the email. (Huffington Post)

The two have been campaigning together in South Carolina and they will be joined Thursday by their mother, former First Lady Barbara Bush. “The visits underscore the campaign’s strategy to highlight the Bush family name, which is very popular in South Carolina.” (CNN)

ON THE TRAIL. Bush will travel to Nevada the day after the South Carolina primary and hold a town hall on Sunday in Las Vegas. (Las Vegas Sun)
