Chamber Comes to Cochran’s Defense

And BuzzFeed finds more unfortunate McDaniel radio clips.

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce has gone up with its first ad in the state slamming state Sen. Chris McDaniel (R) for his stance on a tort reform package. The spot says McDaniel “[used] the courts to seek an enormous payday”¦ winning over $25 million in just one case.” The Chamber is picking six-term Sen. Thad Cochran, who has received an 88 percent lifetime rating from the group. No word on how long the spot will run, but the Chamber calls it a “sizeable buy” that will run statewide. (Release)

QUOTED: BuzzFeed has compiled more clips from McDaniel’s radio show The Right Side in 2005 and another program he co-hosted Right Talk. Highlights include him calling Al Jazeera “the mouthpiece of al Qaeda,” suggesting an Al Jazeera home shopping network would sell burqas, swords and sandals. (BuzzFeed)
