Norquist, Rendell Spar Over Corporate Taxes — VIDEO

At a Na­tion­al Journ­al event on Fri­day, Amer­ic­ans for Tax Re­form’s Grover Nor­quist and former Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell went head-to-head on taxes and in­fra­struc­ture spend­ing.

Con­ver­sa­tion got heated when the two waded in­to a dis­cus­sion on cor­por­ate taxes. Nor­quist ar­gued that the cur­rent 35 per­cent cor­por­ate tax rate is stifling for busi­nesses, while Rendell stressed that loop­holes di­min­ish the amount that cor­por­a­tions ac­tu­ally pay. Watch:

Be­fore the de­bate got un­der way, Rendell took the op­por­tun­ity to ex­press his dis­ap­point­ment with the role that Nor­quist played in this sum­mer’s battle over a deal to raise the debt ceil­ing:
