National Journal Hires New Director of Communications

Wash­ing­ton, D.C. (May 14, 2014) - Jeff Cartwright has been pro­moted to Com­mu­nic­a­tions Dir­ect­or of Na­tion­al Journ­al Group, At­lantic Me­dia Vice Pres­id­ent, Glob­al Com­mu­nic­a­tions Emily Len­zn­er an­nounced today.

Based in Wash­ing­ton, D.C. and re­port­ing to Len­zn­er, Cartwright will over­see all me­dia and pub­lic re­la­tions for Na­tion­al Journ­al Group, which en­com­passes Na­tion­al Journ­al, Gov­ern­ment Ex­ec­ut­ive Me­dia Group and De­fense One.

“Jeff is a true tal­ent burst­ing with cre­ativ­ity and a nat­ur­al in­stinct for com­mu­nic­a­tions strategy and news. I can’t wait to see how he takes Na­tion­al Journ­al‘s com­mu­nic­a­tions ef­forts to the next level.” said Len­zn­er.

Cartwright is be­ing pro­moted from Na­tion­al Journ­al’s sis­ter brand The At­lantic, where for the last year he was com­mu­nic­a­tions man­ager re­spons­ible for the daily pro­mo­tion of The At­lantic magazine, TheAt­, The At­lantic Cit­ies and The Wire. He re­ceived his un­der­gradu­ate de­gree in Journ­al­ism and Stra­tegic Com­mu­nic­a­tions from the Uni­versity of Wis­con­sin - Madis­on.
