On the 20-year an­niversary of the Los Angeles ri­ots, it’s worth re­mem­ber­ing in this elec­tion year that the un­rest in 1992 oc­curred in the midst of a pres­id­en­tial race. George H.W. Bush was seek­ing reelec­tion and, by the end of April, Arkan­sas Gov. Bill Clin­ton was well on his way in be­com­ing the Demo­crat­ic nom­in­ee.
