Sen. Richard Lugar, R-Ind., who along with Sen. Or­rin Hatch, R-Utah, is the longest-serving Re­pub­lic­an in the Sen­ate, lost a stiff primary chal­lenge against In­di­ana Treas­urer Richard Mour­dock on Tues­day.
