Na­tion­al Journal kicked off the first day of the Re­pub­lic­an Na­tion­al Con­ven­tion with a daily brief­ing titled “The Di­git­al Cam­paign and So­cial Me­dia’s Im­pact in 2012.” The pan­el fea­tured Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder; Zac Mof­fatt, di­git­al dir­ect­or for the Rom­ney cam­paign; and rep­res­ent­at­ives from Twit­ter, Google, and Face­book.

The events con­tin­ued in the af­ter­noon with “Build­ing Healthy Cit­ies” at 2 p.m., which fea­tured ex­perts dis­cuss­ing pub­lic-private part­ner­ship solu­tions to de­liv­er ef­fect­ive health care.

And at 4 p.m., a pan­el dis­cus­sion, “Power­ing the City,” covered ef­fi­cient en­ergy strategies cit­ies can pur­sue in the com­ing years.
