Pope Francis Visits the Holy Land

Dur­ing a two-day vis­it to Is­rael and Palestine, Pope Fran­cis met with lead­ers from both sides of the Middle East con­flict. He has con­vinced Is­raeli Pres­id­ent Shi­mon Peres and Palestini­an Pres­id­ent Mah­moud Ab­bas to meet with him to­geth­er at the Vat­ic­an. This, after talks de­teri­or­ated between the two parties and Sec­ret­ary of State John Kerry on a Vat­ic­an trip that was slated to be “strictly re­li­gious.”
