The Gloomy Beauty of the D.C. ‘Supermoon’

Last night’s full moon was 14 percent closer than most other full moons. Did you miss it?

Four­teen per­cent closer than nor­mal and 30 per­cent bright­er than nor­mal, the moon over Wash­ing­ton on Sunday night ad­ded some ex­tra drama to the mou­ments and build­ings of the city—cast­ing mid­night shad­ows across town.
