DCCC Shifts Airtime Reservations, Focuses on Incumbents

The Demo­crat­ic Con­gres­sion­al Cam­paign Com­mit­tee shif­ted more air­time re­ser­va­tions to­ward pro­tect­ing en­dangered in­cum­bents and away from pro­mot­ing some of its second-tier chal­lengers in a de­cision an­nounced Monday.

The com­mit­tee bought more air time to pro­mote Reps. Brad Schneider (D-IL 10), Bill En­yart (D-IL 12), Rick No­lan (D-MN 08), and Sean Patrick Malo­ney (D-NY 18), as well as former Iowa state Sen. Staci Ap­pel (D-IA 03) and Neb­raska state Sen. Brad Ash­ford (D-NE 02).

It can­celed re­ser­va­tions in eight me­dia mar­kets where it was sup­port­ing Rep. John Gara­mendi (D-CA 03), farm­er Mi­chael Egg­man (D-CA 10), former con­gres­sion­al aide Aman­da Renter­ia (D-CA 21), vet­er­an Jim Mowrer (D-IA 04), former judge Ann Cal­lis (D-IL 13), at­tor­ney Pam Byrnes (D-MI 07), Ing­ham County Treas­urer Eric Schertz­ing (D-MI 08), former State De­part­ment of­fi­cial Bobby McK­en­zie (D-MI 11), doc­u­ment­ary film­maker Aaron Woolf (D-NY 21), Tomp­kins County Le­gis­lat­or Martha Robertson (D-NY 23), phys­i­cian and vet­er­an Man­an Trivedi (D-PA 06), and vet­er­an Kev­in Strouse (D-PA 08).
