Former Rep. Sandy Adams (R) said she is “exploring the idea” of running for Rep. Ron DeSantis’s (R) House seat. Adams unseated Rep. Suzanne Kosmas (D) in 2010 but was redistricted into the same district as another incumbent, Rep. John Mica (R-07), who beat her in the 2012 primary.

“If she runs for DeSantis’ seat, Adams will have to introduce herself to many voters in Northeast Florida who are not familiar with her. Based out of Central Florida during her time in the Florida House, Adams represented parts of Volusia County and other parts of the region during her term in Congress.” (Sunshine State News)

The seat is open now that Desantis is running for Senate.

Republican operatives named several other possible candidates: state Sen. Fred Costello (R), state Sen. Dorothy Hukill (R), state Sen. Travis Hutson (R), and state Rep. Doc Renuart (R). Costello lost the Republican primary to DeSantis in 2012. (Roll Call)
