Former Sen­ate can­did­ate Tom Smith (R) an­nounced he will not chal­lenge Rep. Bill Shuster (R) in a primary, after con­sid­er­ing a con­gres­sion­al bid. He dropped his po­ten­tial bid due to “un­ex­pec­ted health con­cerns … that have pre­ven­ted him from run­ning for this of­fice.” (re­lease)
