Ready for Hillary Pulls in Another $1.7 Million

The pro-Hillary Clinton super PAC raised more money in the first quarter of 2014 than it did in the first half of 2013.

Sydney Hibbs (R) holds a sign joining volunteers with the national organization 'Ready for Hillary'' as they hold a rally across the street from the Beverly Wilshire hotel where the former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton will be honored with the inaugural Warren Christopher Public Service Award at the Pacific Council on International Policy's Chairman's Gala on May 8, 2013 in Beverly Hills, California. Clinton's supporters were urging her to run for president in 2016.

Many Americans, it seems, are ready for Hillary enough to put their money behind it.

The main super PAC working to build support for a potential Hillary Clinton presidential bid raked in more than $1.7 million in the first quarter of the year, bringing Ready for Hillary’s total haul to more than $5.75 million since it launched a little over a year ago, according to the group.

From the beginning of this year through the end of March, Ready for Hillary added 22,000 donors to its rolls, for a total of 55,000 contributors since the group’s inception. The pro-Clinton super PAC noted that 98 percent of its contributions were for $100 or less, with the average this quarter coming in at $53. And about a third of donations so far this year came in at the group’s signature $20.16 level, a reference to the year they hope Clinton will run again for the White House.

It’s another strong showing for Ready for Hillary, which got underway in early 2013 and raised just over $4 million by the end of the year. While the group did not report its numbers quarterly to the Federal Election Commission until now, Ready for Hillary’s fundraising appears to be picking up steam. The super PAC reported bringing in $1.25 million by the end of June of last year, and then another $2.75 million in the second half of 2013, for a quarterly average of about $1 million.
