Organization assesses yearly progress toward a major department goal by first breaking it down into its measurable component parts, collecting data, and then aggregating results into an "index" score that summarizes performance. The score not only allows the organization to identify performance gaps and craft targeted action plans in response, but it also serves as a clear tool or framework for communicating departmental performance to key stakeholders.
