Over the weekend, former presidential candidate and pizza “godfather” Herman Cain’s Sick of Stimulus group came out with a follow-up to its first viral ad. This time, instead of killing a goldfish, the group targets””albeit with shoddy graphics””a rabbit as a metaphor for federal taxes. Cue the catapult and shotgun.
Subtlety has obviously not been the goal of Republican presidential candidates’ advertising teams in this election. From ads that took pages straight out of Transformers director Michael Bay’s playbook to the just plain bizarre, the GOP field is putting out spots that would make even the “Daisy Girl” ad’s creators raise their eyebrows.
