Oxfam’s Lame Duck Demonstration

Nov. 14, 2012, 10:05 a.m.

On the heels of its new ad encouraging lawmakers not to “duck fiscal reality,” Oxfam America — the international relief and development organization — took to Capitol Hill to protest budget cuts to foreign aid.

The group brought a giant inflatable rubber duckie, resembling the one from its ad, and set up on the lawn in front of the Capitol Building. Several of the protesters donned comically large cardbord cutout faces of various Congresional leaders and danced around the lame duck duckie.
