About

A staple in the Washington media landscape for over 50 years, National Journal has evolved to serve hundreds of government affairs professionals with the intelligence and tools they need to save time, increase efficiency, and deliver success. With journalism at our core, and a new focus on research and insights, National Journal covers every corner of Washington, keeping our members updated about key movements in the people, politics, and policy that drive D.C. and beyond.

Then and now: Congress Daily and NJ Daily

In conversations with government affairs professionals, we consistently heard that they had become inundated with information to consume. Over the past ten years, the number of places to get information about what’s happening in Washington has doubled, making it harder to identify and distill the most important information. To combat this growing challenge of information overload, in 2012, National Journal launched the Presentation Center: a database of visually stunning, easy-to edit slides and charts that our members could download and repurpose in their own Washington updates.

Since then, we’ve continued to expand and refine our resources to help our members navigate the world of policy and politics at a time when the landscape has become increasingly complex. National Journal’s expertise is unmatched; with teams of specialists dedicated to government affairs, advocacy communications and research in addition to its original exceptional journalism. National Journal’s premier products are: Presentation Center, National Journal Leadership Council, National Journal Daily, Hotline, Race Tracker, Network Science Initiative, and Ballast Research.
