Who Is Weiner's Wife? Huma Abedin Comes into the Fore

A Look Back: The Weiner Meltdown

In many news photos, there always seem to be a gaggle of aides surrounding major Senate and presidential candidates, as well as top government officials. For the most part, while their names may be known to many Beltway insiders, most Americans probably don’t know who they are, and may not even care.

This changed for Huma Abedin since her husband, Rep. Anthony Weiner, D-N.Y., admitted to sending a lewd photo to a college student via Twitter, followed by subsequent sordid revelations. The unnamed woman often standing behind Hillary Rodham Clinton, first as a Senate candidate and now as secretary of State, is now known to millions of people around the world.
