After meeting with President Obama at the White House, House Speaker John Boehner said no deal has yet been reached to keep the government funded past midnight on Friday.

"We're continuing to work toward an agreement because I do believe all of us sincerely believe that we can get to an agreement but we are not there yet," Boehner said after the Thursday afternoon session.

Boehner also said he was disappointed that Obama planned to veto a one-week spending measure just passed by the House. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said negotiators would resume talks at 3 p.m. Thursday and that he and Boehner would return to the White House at 7 p.m. for more talks.
