The White House said on Wednesday it will be watching to see if the Assad regime stands by tomorrow's cease-fire deadline set by the United Nations and Kofi Annan, the Arab League's envoy to Syria.
"We strongly support the plan put forward by Kofi Annan," said White House Press Secretary Jay Carney.
The administration will wait and see whether the Assad regime abides by the cease-fire, Carney added. “What is important to remember is that we judge the Assad regime by their actions, not by their promises.”
“We will wait and see what Kofi Annan says tomorrow, what the situation is tomorrow," he said.
