President Obama is considering Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass., to succeed Leon Panetta as Defense Secretary and United Nations Ambassador Susan Rice to take Hillary Rodham Clinton's spot as Secretary of State, The Washington Post reports.
Kerry's consideration is part of Obama's "extensive rearrangement of his national-security team," including finding a successor for former CIA Director David Petraeus, reports The Post.
Panetta told reporters traveling with him to Australia on Monday that he had no imminent plans to leave his job, according to The Post. But he also indicated that he's "unlikely to stay in the job for the duration of Obama's second term."
