Obama’s Big Secret: When He Knew About bin Laden (and We Didn’t)

In public, President Obama played a mourner, a science nerd, and a comedian. Behind the scenes, he was ordering and then monitoring the top-secret mission to get Osama bin Laden. This is a look at the face Obama was showing America from Friday—when he authorized a unit of Navy SEALs at 8:20 a.m. to charge the al-Qaida leader’s compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan—to Sunday—when he announced the decade-long hunt for bin Laden was over.
