President Obama will meet with House and Senate leadership at the White House on Wednesday to pressure Congress to pass his legislative To Do list, White House press secretary Jay Carney said on Tuesday.
House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., will meet with Obama, Carney said.
“A number of subjects will likely be discussed tomorrow when the president meets with the congressional leadership,” Carney said. But Carney added that the focus wouldn’t be on long-term challenges, like the next raising of the debt ceiling, but would be on “what could help the economy now.”
