President Obama and first lady Michelle Obama "hold assets worth between nearly $2.6 million and nearly $8.3 million," according to financial disclosure forms released by the White House, the Associated Press reports

The White House posted the president's and vice president's financial disclosure reports on Tuesday.

Among the president's holdings: a checking account with embattled bank JP Morgan Chase. Obama has put between $500,000 and $1 million in his JP Morgan account, The Wall Street Journal's Washington Wire blog reports. Obama also holds more than $1 million "in a variety of U.S. Treasury bills and notes."

In 2010, the couple's assets "were valued between $1.8 million and nearly $12 million," the AP reports.
