Obama: Confident Health Care Law Will Be Upheld 4/2/12

President Obama said he was confident Monday that the healthcare reform law will be upheld by the Supreme Court because it is constitutional.

"Ultimately I'm confident that the Supreme Court will not take what would be an unprecedented, extraordinary step of overturning a law that was passed by a strong majority of a democratically-elected Congress," he told reporters in the Rose Garden.

Obama spoke at a press conference with Mexican President Felipe Calderon and Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper after hosting the North American Leaders' Summit at the White House.

The Supreme Court last week wrapped up three days of arguments over the constitutionality of the healthcare reform law. It is not expected to announce its decision until June.
