Women More Likely Than Men to Approve of Obama 

Since President Obama took office in 2009, the gap between women's and men’s approval of the president has remained consistently at a difference of 5 or 6 percentage points despite the fluctuation of his approval, a new Gallup poll shows. Though Obama’s approval has ranged from 41 to 61 percent, women have consistently been more likely than men to say they approve of the president’s performance.

Do Latinos Support Same-Sex Relationships?

As pundits and politicos across the country race to foretell the fallout of Obama’s decision to support gay marriage, an article by Univision suggests that Latinos may not be as socially conservative as previously described—at least when it comes to same-sex relationships.

The article cited a November 2011 poll conducted by Latino Decisions for Univision. More than 40 percent of Latino voters polled believed that same-sex couples should be allowed to legally marry. More than 10 percent believed they should be granted civil unions. Slightly more than a quarter of those surveyed said same-sex couples should receive no legal recognition.

Federal Court: Illegal Immigrants Can’t Own Guns

Illegal immigrants don’t own the right to own guns under the U.S. Constitution, a federal appeals court in Denver ruled this week. The ruling came after a Wyoming man pleaded guilty last year for being an illegal immigrant who was in possession of a gun. The court said that the Constitution only provides limited protections for illegal immigrants.

Interstate Prostitution Ring Busted

An Indianapolis-based prostitution ring run by three illegal immigrants was busted after an extensive, multiagency investigation conducted by Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the Homeland Security Department, among others. The interstate ring was run by three brothers and had been been smuggling women into the U.S. from Mexico and Central America.
