Los Angeles metropolitan area suburbs have become less diverse. The percentage of suburbs that have between 20 to 60 percent nonwhite residents declined 4 percentage points to 23 percent between 2000 and 2010.

Areas categorized as diverse in 2000, such as La Mirada, Covina, Arcadia, Fullerton, and La Habra, have transformed into predominantly nonwhite, likely the result of Hispanic population growth.

The summarizing Los Angeles report (pdf) shows that a regional 3 percent population growth in the past decade, bring total population to 12.8 million.
