Facebook Map Provides Red/Blue View of U.S.

The Facebook Data Team released some images that attempt to visually analyze how people are using location with Facebook that present some unique slices of data. Who’s red and who’s blue? Facebook took an unusual look at U.S. political affiliations, breaking down a location-sharing service called a check-in.

They looked at whether the majority of users in any given city or town provided a political affiliation and gave them a blue dot for Democrats or red for Republicans.

“This gives a very fine grained view of the political map beyond a common red/blue state, or even county level,” Facebook says.
