Arnold Schwarzenegger, actor and former governor of California, said on Sunday that the presidential race is “wide open,” adding that there is plenty of time left in the race for events to shift in favor of either candidate.
“I think that the race is wide open,” Schwarzenegger said during an interview that aired on NBC’s Meet the Press. “And I think that there's a lot of things that change all the time, especially close to the election. I think either one of them can win it. It really depends.”
Schwarzenegger, a Republican, also defended bipartisanship, saying that the country can only move forward when both parties come together to solve a problem.
“Your number-one interest is you should not worry about keeping your position and keeping your seat… our politicians are afraid of losing their seats.” Schwarzenegger said. “So that’s what we need, political courage to go in there and to fix the problem.”
