Conservative columnist George Will on Sunday took issue with some recent criticism of President Obama’s support for Israel.

“I really do not think it's fair to fault the president for ‘throwing Israel under the bus,’ as they say,” Will said on ABC’s This Week, quoting a criticism of Obama leveled by Mitt Romney. “Granted, he has a bad relationship with my good friend Netanyahu, but the relationships between the U.S. military and the Israeli military, which is 98 percent of the point of this relationship, are quite good.”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has pressured the U.S. to define a “red line” for retaliation against Iran’s nuclear program. However, on Sunday, Netanyahu said that he and Obama have a “close” relationship and that he does not doubt the president's support.
