Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels, in the GOP response to President Obama's State of the Union address, said Republican policies will do more to help the middle-class, poor, and unemployed than those proposed by the administration.
“A government as big and bossy as this one is maintained on the backs of the middle class and those who hope to join it,” Daniels said.
In advice to the future Republican presidential candidate, Daniels said his party must offer positive solutions to counter Obama's negative language.
“An opposition that would earn its way to leadership must not offer criticism of failures, but a positive plan to make life better, particularly for those aspiring to make life better for themselves," Daniels said. “Republicans accept this duty gratefully.”
