Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel (D) and Jersey City Mayor Steve Fulop (D) were scheduled to headline a rally for Newark Mayor Cory Booker (D) on Friday, but the event has been cancelled "following news of 14 people shot" in Chicago on Thursday night.
In an email Friday morning, Fulop "expressed his hope that Emanuel could join him in Jersey City on behalf of Booker before Election Day." Former Bogota Mayor Steve Lonegan (R), who had been planning to hold a rally of his own outside the Emanuel event, said: "Oh, good. Tell him to please let me know when. I'll be there to highlight his disgraceful, failed policies."
Lonegan also said: "Rahm Emanuel should keep his failed policies in Chicago. Cory Booker is doing bad enough without him."
Booker wasn't scheduled to attend the Emanuel event. The Democrat is attending a fundraiser for his campaign in San Francisco on Friday. (PolitickerNJ.com)

GETTING TO KNOW YOU: Booker "spent Tuesday in meetings with Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and other Democratic leadership members. ... The meetings were fairly routine, sources said, with updates on the campaign. But they also looked toward the future as polls show Booker cruising toward victory over Lonegan in the heavily Democratic state." (Politico)
