Alissa Swango is the digital executive editor for National Journal. Prior to joining National Journal in January 2011, Swango was the deputy digital editor for TribLocal, the Chicago Tribune’s network of 89 hyperlocal news sites, and a digital news editor at chicagotribune.com. She previously worked at USA TODAY as an assistant news director. Born and raised in central Illinois, Swango received her bachelors degree from the University of Iowa and a master’s degree in journalism from Columbia University.
