The Cuyahoga County Democratic Committee will meet next Thursday in Cleveland to replace the late Democratic Rep. Stephanie Tubbs Jones on the November ballot. Tubbs Jones died of a brain aneurysm last month.

Detroit Mayor Pleads Guilty And Will Resign From Post
Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick pleaded guilty to felony charges today in a sex-and-misconduct scandal and will step down after months of defiantly holding onto his job. He was ordered jailed for 120 days and fined $1 million. He also will serve five years on probation.
