National Journal Hires New Director of Communications

Washington, D.C. (May 14, 2014) - Jeff Cartwright has been promoted to Communications Director of National Journal Group, Atlantic Media Vice President, Global Communications Emily Lenzner announced today.


Based in Washington, D.C. and reporting to Lenzner, Cartwright will oversee all media and public relations for National Journal Group, which encompasses National Journal, Government Executive Media Group and Defense One.

"Jeff is a true talent bursting with creativity and a natural instinct for communications strategy and news. I can't wait to see how he takes National Journal's communications efforts to the next level." said Lenzner.

Cartwright is being promoted from National Journal's sister brand The Atlantic, where for the last year he was communications manager responsible for the daily promotion of The Atlantic magazine,, The Atlantic Cities and The Wire. He received his undergraduate degree in Journalism and Strategic Communications from the University of Wisconsin - Madison.
