National Journal Announces New Features and Products

Introducing NJ’s The Edge, a Comprehensive Newsletter, and Two New Video Projects in Collaboration With Newsy

Washington, D.C. – Today, National Journal announces the addition of new features and products including The Edge – a comprehensive newsletter combining the news-in-brief, leading opinions, inside scoops, and a look at the day ahead; Under the Cover and Sunday Sound Bites - two video projects in collaboration with the production company Newsy.

NJ’s The Edge combines the respected voices of Matt Cooper, Ron Fournier, Chris Frates, Michael Hirsh, Jill Lawrence, Josh Kraushaar, and other top National Journal journalists with high-utility summaries of the day’s often-chaotic events, and original looks at what’s trending each evening.  The Edge will also feature National Journal’s unique take on the most important news of the day, breaking news, and engaging new features such as Bedtime Reading, Top Tweets, Key Indicator, and Reality Check.

To Sign Up for NJ’s The Edge visit:

NJ’s The Edge joins National Journal’s fully reimagined newsletter line up, providing DC insiders with a steady stream of information throughout the day.  Each morning, NJ members receive NJ’s Need-to-Know Memo, a summary of the day’s most important news, and political junkies in DC and around the country receive Hotline’s Wake-Up Call.  Each afternoon, readers receive a look at the day as it happened and the day ahead with NJ’s The Edge.  Each evening, National Journal members finish with NJ’s Daily Extra (setting tomorrow’s agenda in the capital) and Hotline’s Latest Edition (a guide to the races & a trademark irreverent look at national politics).  In addition, every Thursday, members receive the Member Toolbox briefing summarizing important events of the week.

Under the Cover and Sunday Sound Bites are two new and useful video projects born out of National Journal’s partnership with Newsy, a multisource video news analysis service.

Under the Cover is a weekly video that takes a sneak peek into National Journal’s lead magazine cover story. Highlights include interviews with the author, excerpts from the story, insights from behind the scenes, and video footage from reporters in the field.

Sunday Sound Bites is a recap of the most important highlights and sound bites from the Sunday morning political talk shows on broadcast and cable networks with new insight and commentary. No need to get up early - Sunday Sound Bites gives viewers the best of every Sunday show broadcast in a tight package, to be watched at their convenience.
