WASHINGTON, D.C., August 17, 2012 -- National Journal and on-demand car service Uber are teaming up to make getting around at the Republican and Democratic conventions easier. Today National Journal and Uber announced an official partnership for each of the conventions that will feature discounted transportation to National Journal events and copies of National Journal publications in all of Uber's convention cars.
As part of the partnership, new Uber customers can get $20 off their first ride, using special National Journal promotion codes when they sign up for Uber service using the code NJRNC in Tampa and NJDNC in Charlotte.
All Uber users will get limited 20% off Uber rides to events at National Journal's convention headquarters - Carne Chophouse @ El Centro Espanol (Ybor City) in Tampa and the McColl Center for Visual Art in Charlotte.
Throughout the two conventions, Uber vehicles will carry complimentary copies of National Journal publications, so convention-goers can stay informed while on-the-go. Uber's mobile-optimized request site is also directly linked within RE:CON, National Journal's convention mobile app. [iPhone/iPad | Android]
So, request an Uber, open up a National Journal and take a break while you're getting from the convention floor to National Journal headquarters!
