The Number That Makes Women a Minority in Washington's Workforce

Apparently, it's about $110,000.

For government-sector positions paying up to $100,000, women trump men in filling these jobs--they hold approximately 57 percent of the positions. For jobs paying over $100,000, men dominate, with women holding only 42 percent of the positions.

Outside of government, women are making larger sums of money. The seven women in the private sector raking in more than $1 million in Washington are:

3. $1,616,219: Leigh Ann Pusey, American Insurance Association

2. $2,606,784: Dawn Sweeney, National Restaurant Association

1. $2,850,438: Pamela Bailey, Grocery Manufacturers Association
