Elizabeth Thompson will step down as president of Susan G. Komen for the Cure, the largest breast-cancer charity in the United States, on Sept. 7, The Wall Street Journal reported on Wednesday.
The foundation has seen significant turnover at the top since a furor erupted earlier this year over the foundation's policy against making grants to Planned Parenthood. The policy was reversed in February.
The foundation also announced the departure of two board members on Wednesday.
"It's not cleaning house," said the foundation's CEO, Nancy Brinker. "It's an evolution."
